WHAT EXACTLY IS IT? AND WHY DO I NEED TO ADD IT TO MY ROUTINE?
SO WHAT IS IT?
Dry brushing is the process of using a firm brush on the skin without water and brushing in movements that increases blood flow to the heart. By using without water, the brush creates more friction/circulatory effect on the skin and below.
WHY DO I NEED IT?
Dry Brushing has many benefits which all revolve around the increase of blood flow. And also by starting on outer extremities and moving toward the heart this encourages the blood flow to move toward the heart. Increasing blood flow is similar to exercise in that it encourages blood, circulatory system, lymph system to all increase and move. Movement encourages release of toxins, and helps all the organs to do their jobs easier. Read more about the benefits of increasing blood flow on yesterday’s blog post, GET THAT BLOOD PUMPIN”
WHAT DO I NEED?
We carry just the perfect brush over at Body Systems. Our natural boar bristles are firm enough and our brush is different in that is also has firm massage nubs on the other side for deeper tissue release. That’s all you need! Of course we love to do our dry brushing in the shower right before turning on the water so that we can also exfoliate, and cleanse the body all at once. I mean why add more steps to your already busy routine, right? And guess what?! We have a sale on our Body Brushes, Body Scrubs and more products to help get your body’s circulation moving in the shower. And just in time for Heart Health Month of February, too.
I DON’T LIKE SHOWERS!
Not a shower type? No worries you can get your blood pumping in the bath too. Use the Body Brush before stepping into your bath. Then soak in one of our great Mineral Baths which will absorb so many more nutrients since your skin is prepped from brushing and then follow up with a relaxing Body Butter that contains Lavender like this one to relax blood vessels. Great movement combination of the blood vessels.
